Necrophiliac : No Living Man is Innocent

It's not every week, or month, that we get the chance to hear a comeback that sounds as if it came just a year or two after the first release. When it comes to Spanish death metal band Necrophiliac, that's exactly what you're going to get. Only, this is much more than just a few years after their debut, try 28 years. That's right, since their less than amazing debut back in 1992, Necrophiliac have honed their axes and delivered a death metal release on a much higher level. While on Chaopula - Citadel of Mirrors it was much more dirty and murky, No Living Man is Innocent brings us a sharper more concentrated sound.

Released through the Italian Xtreem Music record label, No Living Man is Innocent is a good death metal album. While the vocals are still the same strain of nasty, which I personally love, the production of the guitars, bass and skins are more pleasing to listen to when it comes to this particular style of death. The technical passages flow with intent to them, and as a whole Necrophiliac have a defined direction to how they want the record to sound.

It's not a perfect record, and by today's standards they certainly haven't shown us anything groundbreaking, but it is still a good album to listen to if you're a death metal nut. There's some fun guitar play, and even if it's not the best metal album you've heard in a while it's still a great return for this obscure band.

I'm giving No Living Man is Innocent a 7/10
