Wednesday Wrangling - May 6th

Writer's picture: JamesJames

Hey all, and welcome to your Wednesday Wrangling. I will be highlighting some new releases with quick bites rather than going into full reviews for each. And with that, let's get into it, shall we?

Umbra Vitae - Shadow of Life - May 1st

Starting things off with a bang this time we have Boston death metallers Umbra Vitae with their debut record, Shadow of Life. The ten tracks are stuffed with textbook brutality, fantastic arrangements and a warning; don't let fear hold you back. A somewhat ominously positive message for the masses.

Flesh Prison - I Died Here - May 6th

Continuing with the barbarous theme so far, we have Flesh Prison with their first demo out. The Perth band is pushing out "caveman riffs and blast beats," so if that sounds like your thing go check them out!

Hellrazor - Hellraiser EP - May 2nd

Switching lanes now we have Swedish Hellrazor with their first EP (at least the first that I can find). They play a furious blend of punk and speed, and with band members with names like Death Corpse and Eurotrash, what's not to love?

Human Embroidery - Submissive Servants - May 5th

Peeling back the onion to the savagery from before, we find Human Embroidery with their first full release - Submissive Servants. Hailing from Spain, these death metal bastards have a record brimming with grind and rage. Songs like "Bukkake of Cash" speak of corrupted officials that will say anything to have power.

Wilt - Regorged - May 1st

German band Wilt have been around for a while now and have previously released a demo back in '14 and their first full length in '18. Two years later we are treated with a brand new four track EP filled with that same gruesome buzzsawing OSDM that we've come to know Wilt for. And that cover art from Dedy Badic, perfection.

TOMBSTONER - Descent to Madness - May 1st

Did I save the best for last? Possibly, as this has been a highly anticipated release in my book. Staten Islanders TOMBSTONER are crushing onto the scene with their debut EP release, Descent to Madness. They play a horrifying malformation of death metal awash with thrash and grind tendencies. Plus, that album artwork? It's going to have to go in my list of favorites (another from Dedy Badic)!
